Honorary Chairman- Someone well known in the community to help draw golfers. Vice Chairman, Sponsors- someone who can focus on getting sponsors for the event. The committee chairman and the committee people will come from a variety of places, make sure they understand the objective and their place in the big picture. Is it just me or is more attention being paid to local sports coverage in the papers. I heard on the news the other day that ESPN is going to start focusing on increasing it's local coverage with new channels to compete with comcast sportsnet among others. I wonder if local high school sports is where the newspapers are going to find their new niche to call home while figuring out how to make money on the web. There are two good sites covering local news in this area: phillyburbs Bucks Mont sports now site and Rally : The Daily News & Inquirers online offerings. Both are good, but neither of them have won awards made by Bux-Mont Award s so how good could they be right? But they have some great writers and coverage of the local sports today.
