Bux-Mont Awards helps you recognize achievements

You say goodbye, I say Hello

As we turn the page on 2009, some of us having lost our jobs or a good portion of our income are looking inwards for answers. I don't do New Years resolutions, but I do resolve to have a better year in 2010. We all have many great opportunities around us that are waiting to be capitalized on, so heres to it. What are you waiting for? You all need to get out there and achieve so that we may help you recognize those achievements. There are many people waiting to do your every beck and call and to do it well. I for one am not trying to wait. Too much to do, and to little time. Happy 2010.

Personalized Imprinted Photo Shirts for The Holidays

It's a busy Monday and while the phones have been busily ringing and we are trying to get our photo-ornament issues corrected, we are hoping to remind those of you looking to skip the mall and support their local Main St . that you can get photos put on shirts here at Bux-Mont Awards . Just email or bring in your photo and tell us what size and wording you want on it and we will be sure to have your orders in time for Christmas. Just don't wait too long or the elves may become frazzled from having to produce all these last minute orders! Happy Monday!

Support your home, visit and shop the stores on Main St.

I was speaking with another of the retail merchants here in Sellersville the other day, and it was said that Main St. is making a comeback. There was talk of people growing bored of the big box and coming back home to shop again. We apparently aren't the only ones. Kate Fratti had a great article in the Intelligencer the other day about keeping close to home and supporting your neighbors this holiday season. People seem to take their Main Streets for granted at times, and we don't like that. While she didn't mention Sellersville by name, we still hope you will be able to find your way over here to have a look around. And if you are a merchant looking for space, there is two openings for retail space in our old location on the corner of Temple and Main, check it out. Because Bux-Mont Awards is more than just trophies, we encourage people to come in and have a look around. A lot of people don't realize we have a personalized gift line that offers truly unique gift

Christmas is getting near

and we just wanted to remind you that Sellersville is a great spot to come to dine, shop and enjoy some great entertainment! Bux-Mont Awards asks that you come visit our store and see the great personalized gifts we have. We are that little kiosk that sells photo mugs, mousepads & t-shirts blended nicely with a more affordable things remembered. We sell personalized gifts because when we started the business it started out as Bux-Mont Awards & Engraving Services, not Bux-Mont Trophies. We sell recognition first and foremost and that means a lot of things to a lot of people.

An early Christmas Present

Bux-Mont Awards has been selected as a favorite place on google ! Between July 1 and September 30, Google users found Bux-Mont Awards & Engravings' business listing a whopping 2684 times! Driving directions were requested 170 times. For all these requests we have received a preferred listing on Google sticker for our window, and it has a barcode that certain phones can scan to access the coupons we have posted for you on Google! As always thank you to those that continue to support us by choosing Bux-Mont Awards as their preferred vendor of awards and recognition products. We love working with you to give your awards recipients the very best in trophies, awards and recognition products.

The toy drive ends today

The toy drive ended today and we feel it was a big success here at Bux-Mont Awards . After years of being a designated drop location and never getting any toys, the owner of Bux-Mont Awards challenged his employees to find a way to increase donations. Our box was full and it was through more than just the employees giving. We had more giving generated through word of mouth. Just telling people about us being a designated drop off location was enough to make people want to help. The capacity of people to give is truly amazing! Thank you to everyone who donated toys and thanks to everyone involved. The proceeds go to the Pennridge FISH and alot of hard work is done through both the Chamber of Commerce and the volunteers at FISH to ensure that those less fortunate than many are able to give their kids a great Christmas.

Thankful for alot

Im thankful for friends & family and you of course. Without you our faithful recognition loyalists, we wouldn't be here, and I wouldn't be able to do any of the fun things that you enable me to do. I am truly thankful that I have a job I love, a great boss, a healthy, happy family, and a great network of people. I am thankful that my brother is able to travel home tomorrow to be with us, and I am thankful for too many things for this blog post. Without my friends and family I wouldn't be who I am, and if I wasn't who I am then you wouldn't like me for me, and we all know its easier to buy from someone you like so.... But I digress. I wanted to use this time to give thanks for my health, and my life. You all are important to me in a special way, and I hope that I can share some of what you give to me with others. Thank you for realizing the importance of recognition and for choosing us to help you along that path. Here's to you this holiday and I hope it

If you are planning on coming to town a week from tomorrow to enjoy Sellersvilles' annual winterfest tree lighting and visit from Santa, please stop by our new showroom at the Historic Baum House and have a look around, share your favorite Walter Baum Memories, and get your free magnet! The Christmas tree lighting takes place at the tree at 6:30 Tuesday December 1st. We hope to see you here at Bux-Mont Awards ! Sellersville Winterfest

Sellersville Winterfest

is December 1st this year and we are working on our trees. Many of you driving by have no doubt seen the decorations going up at Bux-Mont Awards new home in the historic Baum house! We are excited because this is the first year we have a new space and a fresh pallet to work with. We have a lot of personalized ornaments available to you, and also a line of sand etched stock ornaments that our talented staff created especially for you ornament nuts out there. Please come visit us during this years winterfest for your free magnet, as well as coffee, cocoa and cookies! We hope the carolers will be out in force again to, as we always enjoyed their singing out front of our store. Looking forward to seeing you all here on the second!

Shopping on Main St.

Being a small business on main st. we know how the big box shoppers really take something away from the small town atmosphere, but we also know what a little hard work and perseverance does. Together with your help Main St. small businesses make up the fabric of a small town. We create jobs, share stories and make small towns right. Shopping on Main St provides the community backbone that the big box lacks. We work hard to convince you that, sometimes, there is more to a product than just price. We, as a nation, outsourced our manufacturing to save so many pennies that we lost something that came with those toys you got your kids for Christmas. We've lost the essence of Christmas and gift giving and it keeps getting further and further away with each and every gift card sold. Main St. needs you, the customer, the townspeople, to realize that you are the only way that we are here. You are the reason we exist and your patronage is greatly appreciated. You are who we thank sitt

Is it that time already?

No! We are just ahead of the game this year. We are feverishly working in order to prepare our store for the holidays. It seems like we have to be ready earlier than most because of Sellersville annual winterfest event held on the first Tuesday in December. (this year it's december 2) The community comes out in droves to support this wonderful event as the local businesses and organizations open their doors to welcome in the holidays. With carolers, Santa Claus and a tree lighting ceremony, the Sellersville Winterfest is an event looked forward to by many of Sellersvilles citizens. My favorite part, aside from Bux-Mont Awards annual Christmas themed fridge magnet giveaway and cookies, is the Sellersville Museums annual tree decorating contest. Trees are decorated by different members of the community and then everyone votes with their money. Change is collected in a jar placed in front of each tree, and the one with the most money at the end wins a prize. The change is t

Pennridge Chamber of Commerce Annual Toy Drive

The Pennridge Chamber of Commerce is proud to put together their annual toy drive to Benefit Pennridge FISH . Bux-Mont Awards is one of the official toy drop off locations and if you mention this blog post when you drop off your toy you will receive 5.00 off your purchase of 25.00 in gift items for the holidays. There are many needy families that could use your help. Toy donations are gratefully accepted, and you will make a local child's Christmas! Thank you in advance!

promopros.com

Recognition means a lot of things to a lot of folks. It means a lot to us to. Recognition is the niche Bux-Mont Awards serve, and we think we do a decent job of it. We set out to offer Awards & Engraving services way back when, and that opened up the door to recognition for us. We soon learned as we started offering more recognition services that an opportunity existed. Recognition means a lot: Recognition is awards & trophies for a lot of things: fantasy sports, youth sports tournaments, year end youth sports awards, high school sports tournament and more. Recognition can come in a corporate form: these include sales awards and employee of the month, years of service recognition and more. Recognition is brand awareness : imprinted apparel for youth sports, imprinted shirts for small business, and imprinted promotional products fall under this category. For the promotional products needs of our customers we have developed the site promopros.com . Promopros.com gives us

We have a server room! Well it's actually more like a server closet, but our ancient server, fresh off of a strenuous move, has been given a new home and we are excited about it! We tied everything together with the ever handy and reusable velcro zip ties to keep it all prim and proper. Because as you all know waste makes haste!

New Bux-Mont Awards Sign

Is here and ready to go up! I can't wait to show you more pictures as the day goes on! What a relief that people will finally be able to find our store again! More pictures of Bux-Mont Awards' new sign to follow!

Sellersville Gallery of The Arts

The Gallery of the Arts is this weekend, and Bux-Mont Awards is hurriedly getting it's showroom ready for this years featured artist Fred Diseroad. An architect as well as an artist, Fred is most well known for his drawings of local historic homes. A number of his drawings hang in the West Rockhill Township building. Come visit our town this Sunday and stop in to see our new digs as well as the Gallery of the Arts featured artist. The Gallery has seen exponential growth in interest of area crafters and artisans this year, so there will be plenty of arts to take in. If you don't want to deal with the crowds at the Jim Henson Exhibit at the Michener this weekend, come to Sellersville to take in the arts!

Breast Cancer Awareness Recognition

As everyone is out there working hard to raise money to save some lives, we are trying to recognize all of your achievements. These resin statues are a great way to recognize donors, top fundraisers, or important leaders all working towards the eradication of breast cancer. And to do our part, we are pleased to tell you that when you let us help effectively pursue recognition this October, 10% of your breast cancer recognition purchase will go back to the cause. Our professionals are geared with the knowledge to help everyone do this, and someone is awaiting your contact right now so that we can help you. The breast cancer awareness resin isn't the only way we offer to recongize donor achievements. There are many plaques and acrylics that will

New Store

We are officially operating our of our new store location. Bux-Mont Awards has moved up to the other end of the block. Check the pictures at the end of the post. It goes 1) the odd fellows building (our old store) 2) the Harleysville National Bank 3) the Harleysville National Bank parking lot and 4) our new store. We moved North to the other end of the block on the corner of Main and Green streets. You will be happy to hear there is off street parking behind the building. It is in a white house and you should see the sign up at some point in the near future. Looking forward to showing it off at the gallery of the arts in Sellersville on the 20th! View of store from Main St.

Pennridge Gallery of the Arts

The Annual Pennridge Gallery of the Arts is quickly approaching. Set for Sunday, September 20, in Sellersville, the 41st Gallery of the Arts encourages everyone to "come enjoy the many beautiful paintings and crafts created by local and visiting artists." The artists will be judged on a variety of categories and everyone will be competing for the Best of Show prize. The winner will be awarded the Walter E. Baum plaque honoring the top artist at the event along with $1000 in prize money. The Gallery of the arts is put on with the goal of keeping the community involved with the arts. Bux-Mont Awards will once again be hosting this years featured artist, only in a new location . Many of you have heard that we have moved to the other end of the block from 201 N Main to 225 N. Main. We are now working out of the newly renovated historic Walter Baum house on

Breast Cancer Awareness giveaways

Breast Cancer Awareness month has a special meaning to many people and for us here at Bux-Mont Awards it's no different.. From the race for the cure to the many other events held during the month of October people are always ordering shirts and promotional products for their events. We have done a number of breast cancer awareness promotions in the past for our customers. We also have a great line of cancer ribbon resins for top fundraiser awards, recognizing team achievement, and donor recognition. We have pink shirts that can be direct to garment imprinted in full color with photos or screen-printed with one or two colors. The shirts come in all sizes sm - 5xl. We're moving!

Recently, as most of our customers already know, we partook in a move of grand scale when we decided our production facilities were no longer adequate for us to continue to faithfully serve the ever growing number of you there are. As far as problems go this is a very good one to have. It means we are busy, and it means we are doing something right. Seeing that we only moved to the other end of the block we made it through and saw some great advantages as the move nears its completion. This move enabled us to keep our showroom where it was (for the time being...) while gaining some new retail space up the street at 225 N. Main (our new address. This space was going to be used for The Other Corner personalized gifts and imprinted apparel. A unique gift shop where people could skip the mall and get back to main street with their engravable gift needs. Though that was then, as in last week, and this is now; and my how things have changed. We got a notice, at the beginning of the mo

Back from vacation, server room

You will notice the chord is neat and organized thanks to a few nifty veclro zip ties ! These things are so sweet and super useful. They are great for keeping chords organized and tidy!

closed for...

we are going to be closing June 29th and reopening on July the 13th. Bux-Mont Awards has grown too much. Of course this is a good problem to have, but fact be known that we have outgrown our production space. It is for this reason that we have found some new digs just up the road at the other corner of our block. This new space is super sweet. It has been refurbished and made to look brand new just for us. The folks at Kelly Fox Construction were even nice enough to put an addition on for our work production area. For this we are very thankful. I will say again this new space is sweet. It's got everything that the space we are currently in lacks, and we hope it lasts us a very long time (though if we had to move sooner rather than later because we outgrew this place, it would be fine with me) I will be taking pictures of the move and keeping everyone updated. We will be answering phone calls and appreciated everyones understanding while we close for the next week and move a

Big things and exciting news

Bux-Mont Awards will be closing for two weeks beginning June 27 reopening Monday July 13th. If you should have a need for recognition services in that time, please call 215.257.5432 or email help!@buxmontawards.com and we will try are hardest to accommodate you. Why are you closing for two whole weeks?!? Well a number of reasons really. Bux-Mont Awards staff works very hard throughout the year to honor our recognition obligations. Some of our customers memories lapse from time to time, yet they still need their awards for their big sales event, and we must provide those awards to maintain our name and to show you all we really do care. We always get you in (thus far) but we have earned a break. Therefore, the week of July 4th we are taking a vacation to spend some quality time with the family in the Outer Banks. Some of our extended family (our coworkers) are planning vacations at this time as well, and there are some others who will still be doing some prep work. I know what yo

Congratulations to the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards Winners

I had the pleasure of attending the 13th annual Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce awards presentation on Thursday June 18th at the Perkiomen School and I was impressed. The people over there at the Chamber have been absolutely fantastic about helping me get acclimated to the area and enabling me to make some great connections within the Upper Perkiomen business network! The awards breakfast was a great time, and one of the nicest presentation I have been to. They not only understand the importance of properly recognizing achievements; they also were able to give their awards winners the perfect recognition product for their needs. They gave away some high quality recognition pieces to some worthy individuals and I want to congratulate them here as well! The Outstanding Small Busines Award was given to Rose Hanlon, which was accepted by her husband. With two locations the Hanlons mix a combination of good will and good taste to grow their business the right way; a high qual

Your picture on mugs

To wrap up the weeks posts with another thing that people don't know that we do, which will all change very shortly as we continue to add space enabling us to display it properly , is picture mugs. Wednesdays recognition edition

As we continue to discuss the recognition products Bux-Mont Awards sells that our customers don't know we carry, it is easy to forget about the basics. Bux-Mont Awards sells certificates and medals. These products are some of the most popular we carry but often times the more forgotten ones. We get many calls for bronze plaques and trophies. Every once in awhile people call or stop in and ask if we do banners. But people are always surprised to find us carrying certificates and medals. For some reason it just doesn't occur to people that you can come to your local trophy shop for certificates and medals. But we, of course, are much more than just a trophy shop, and we are trying to take this time to show you that. Our art department can even create custom certificates for you. A great way to recognize achievements.

Recognition products offered by Bux-Mont Awards that you didn't know we carried

Bronze memorial signage is a product that Bux-Mont Awards has carried almost since we were born. Now knowing that we didn't sell banners is understandable, as we just started carrying them in the last year or two, but cast bronze plaques are hard to find items and the first place you should start is your neighborhood trophy shop . We know that in most cases it is a hard thing to shop for, but bronze memorial plaques are the right way to permantly memorialize the loved ones you lost.

Banners: We sell banners of all shapes and sizes. Whether your school just won the conference championship or you need a banner that spans across the street, we have someone here at Bux-Mont Awards to help meet your needs. Recognition means a lot of things to a lot of people and we are trying to meet the needs of all of them. From industrial signage to imprinted apparel, it is all recognition of some sort. Please email me with your questions. Tomorrows product: bronze memorial plaques.

Products Bux-Mont Awards offer that you might not know we sell

This coming week I will be highlighting products and services we provide that you may not know about. We are working hard for you, our customers, to ensure that your needs can be met as easily as possible. Bux-Mont Awards knows that our trophy and awards buying customers will also be needing certain things for their tournament or recognition event that, if shopping at another trophy shop, would be forced to travel somewhere else or find another source to purchase. Not at Bux-Mont Awards, depending upon your event there are many solutions we have to offer. Leave your suggestions of things you need for your tournament or event that you can't find at your current trophy/awards shop and come back for this weeks products we offer that you might not know we sell.

Proper Participation Awards Etiquite

I don't think that giving participation awards is wrong. I think that when most people say they can't believe clubs give participation awards they mean they can't believe their youth sports organization is giving participation awards to the wrong people. Particpation awards can and should be given. That said, how participation trophies and awards are given and presented determines how effective they are. Bux-Mont Awards does not recommend giving participation awards to high school athletes. We do, however, recommend giving participation awards at the lower levels of youth sports. As most parents can attest, at the earliest levels, participation in youth sports can be a challenge. The levels of efforts needed to ensure success at that age is great. Just getting through the rigors of trying to get in the fundamentals of any sport at such a young age is rough for all involved parties. While it is often most challenging for the parents and the coaches, it is also a chall

Healthy Hearts

It is that time of the year again for running and racing and 5k's. Of all the events that we do awards for, one of the highest quality 5k's in this area is the Heart to Heart. The Heart to Heart 5k , now in its 9th year, has striven to achieve their mission of raising money to provide "support for the local Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA, as well as provide monies to distribute Automated External Defibrillators to various facilities in the area, such as churches, nursing homes and other community facilities. We hope you can attend! Remember to thank all the kind sponsors of the event! Awards & recognition is counter cyclical

With the economy starting to show signs of revival, this post may be late out of the gate, but I always say better late then never. I think that awards and recognition services tend to be counter cyclical. With jobs being shed at a staggering rate (though starting to stabilise hopefully) everyone is worried about the future. We have lost a couple of customers jobs that we really miss, and our numbers are off pace from what we were expecting for 2009 because of it. However, with that said, we do have prospects in the pipeline and more and more people are inquiring about our services and visiting our website. I should explain what I mean by the counter cyclical comment. I think that as jobs are shed, recognition of current employees and the achievements of those who stick around take on greater importance. If you are a HR manager and you are being faced with another round of layoffs, you understand that uncertainty is thick in the air throughout the office. Those who are staying

Free Awards & Recognition contest

1st Prize: $150.00 worth of awards & a consultation with recognition professionals to help you plan your awards ceremony, ensuring it's effectiveness and success! 5 runner up awards: Consultation with our recognition professionals and 10% off of your awards order. Bux-Mont Awards is having a contest. Winners will come from the comments on this post. We want the most creative ways that our readers give traditional forms of recognition. We all know that trophies, plaques and awards can lose their meaning if given too loosely. I don't think this has to be and know that there are a few of you out there able to help the rest of the crown give a new spin on these traditional forms of recognition. While Bux-Mont Awards specializes in a wide array of recognition services in addition to our plaques, certificates and trophies, we also know that the tried and tested are that way for a reason. They just work. Trophies and plaques can still be effective if you work with someone

May is time for blooming

and im not talking about onions. May comes after April showers (though I don't think anyone gave the showers the heads up that its may yet!) May brings growth and rejuvenation. May we help bring new growth to your company through rejuvenating your awards and recognition program. The results of effectively recognising achievements speaks for itself. You shouldn't have to go it alone, let Bux-Mont Awards' recognition professionals help you.
